Cable

Funding

Local access cable television programming in the Township is paid for with funds from the Township's cable service provider, Time Warner Cable, consistent with federal and State laws.  The Township uses Township General Fund revenues to pay for recording and broadcasting meetings and other official programming.

Services

The Township is a member of the Western Reserve Cable Consortium.  Other area local governments, including the City of Aurora, Northfield Center Township, Village of Northfield, Village of Reminderville, Sagamore Hills Township, and City of Twinsburg, are also members of the Consortium.  The Consortium manages the relationship with Time Warner Cable on behalf of its member communities, oversees operation of the jointly shared Cable 9 on Channel 15, and coordinates allocation of Public Education Government (PEG) channel space among member communities.  The Township shares Time Warner Cable Channel 17 with the Village of Reminderville for PEG purposes.  Township and Village bulletin boards are alternately broadcast on Time Warner Cable Channel 17 on a continuous basis.  The Township also broadcasts video recordings of various Township meetings.  At this time the general session of the most recent regular meeting of the Board of Trustees is broacast on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
