Funding
The Township currently pays for recreation services with General Fund revenues. Payment for these services is re-authorized by the Board of Trustees on an annual basis.
Recreation Center Program
The Township Recreation Center Program began in 2008 as a way to facilitate Township resident access to area recreation centers. The Board of Trustees subsequently re-authorized and approved additional funding for the Program in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, with increases in Program popularity each year. Recognizing that the Township neither operated a recreation facility nor provided recreation programming, the Board of Trustees established the Program to defray Township residents’ costs to join existing area recreation centers. The Board of Trustees continues to look for opportunities to add to the Program’s diverse mix of eligible centers, which now stands at eight.
The 2012 Township Recreation Center Program pays half of the membership fee at eligible recreation centers, with a 2012 benefit of up to $250.00 per Township household. Following is a list of 2012 Program-eligible recreation centers:
