Funding
The Township is contemplating the use of General Fund revenues to provide youth services to Township residents in future years, pending the availability of funding and following an evaluation of current programs and services. In the mean time there are already numerous youth activity opportunities in and around the Township, many of which are outlined below. Please check this site periodically for updates.
Safety Town(ship)
Safety Town(ship) is a multi-day summer safety program intended for children who will be entering kindergarten in the upcoming academic year. Children who attend Safety Town are provided with instruction on a variety of topics, which may include but not be limited to animal safety, bicycle safety, electrical safety, fire safety, gun safety, litter prevention, railroad safety, school bus safety, stranger danger, tornado safety, utilizing 911, and water safety. Teaching safety to children at a young age, and reinforcing it as they mature, helps to empower children and adults with safety knowledge that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
The 2024 Safety Town(ship) is for children entering kindergarten in the upcoming (2024 -2025) academic year and will be offered at no cost to Township residents. The Board of Trustees is pleased to be able to cooperate with the Summit County Sheriff, who provides policing services by contract to the Township, on the hosting of this great event. Township residents are encouraged to apply soon for this event. The 2024 Safety Town(ship) will take place at Wilcox Primary School and other locations, with dates to be determined. 2024 Safety Town(ship) applications will be available at Township Hall. Applications will be accepted at Township Hall through Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
